ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ(reporterkarnataka.com): ಬಲ್ದೋಟ ಸಮೂಹದ ಉದ್ದೇಶಿತ 54,000 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದ ಉಕ್ಕು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಘಟಕದ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿರೋಧವನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ ಜನತೆಯ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಲು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾಗಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಉಕ್ಕು ಮತ್ತು ಬೃಹತ್ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಹೆಚ್ ಡಿ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಜೆ ಡಿ (ಎಸ್) ಪಕ್ಷದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟಕದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.
ಬಲ್ದೋಟ ಸಮೂಹ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಉಕ್ಕು ಘಟಕದ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ನಂತರ ಕೊಪ್ಪಳದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾದ ವಿರೋಧವನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಜೆ ಡಿ (ಎಸ್) ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕೋರ್ ಕಮಿಟಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಸಿ ವಿ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟಕದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಭೂಮರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಅವರು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವರನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಜೆ ಪಿ ನಗರದ ಅವರ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಘಟಕದ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗಬಹುದಾದ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮನವಿ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಘಟಕಗಳ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯದಿಂದ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ನಲುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿರುವ ಕೊಪ್ಪಳದ ಜನತೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಬಾಣಲೆಗೆ ನೂಕಿದೆ. ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಷಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾರಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟು ನೀಡುವ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನವಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲವಾಗಿರುವ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಘಟಕಗಳು ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿ ಕೊಪ್ಪಳವನ್ನು ನರಕ ಸದೃಶವನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿವೆ. ಅವುಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದ ನಿಯಮಾವಳಿಗಳ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಮನವಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವರು ತಮಗೆ ಕೊಪ್ಪಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿರುವ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇದೆ. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಘಟಕಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ. ಆದರೆ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಪರಿಸರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಷಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರಕವಾಗುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಲಾಗದು. ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ ಜನತೆಯ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು ಎಂದು ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದೆ.

Koppal: Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H D Kumaraswamy has assured to address the concerns of the people in Koppal regarding the proposed Rs 54,000 crore integrated steel plant.
The Baldota Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Karnataka during the Global Investors’ Meet in Bengaluru on February 11 to set up a Rs 54,000 crore integrated steel plant with a production capacity of 10.50 million tons per annum in Koppal taluk.
The proposed steel plant has been a topic of discussion, with people in Koppal expressing concerns about its impact on the environment and local community.
C V Chandrashekar, a member of the JD(S) State Core Committee, and Suresh Bhoomaraddi, President of the Koppal District Unit, met the minister at his J P Nagar residence in Bengaluru on Friday morning and submitted a letter, stated a press release by the party’s District Unit.
“The situation in Koppal is indeed alarming, with over 200 active industrial units harming community health and agriculture due to effluents and industrial wastes. The proposed unit by the Baldota Group will only exacerbate the issue.
The environmental and health impacts of industrial pollution can be devastating. The Minister’s intervention is crucial to address the concerns of the people and ensure that the proposed unit does not further harm the community,” the letter requested.
The Minister emphasised that industries are essential for development, but it’s equally important to ensure that these units don’t harm the environment, farming, or violate guidelines.
He is aware of the developments in Koppal after the MoU was signed. He will positively respond to the demands of people, he assured.
The Koppal Environment Protection Forum has brought together various outfits and leaders from across party lines to oppose the proposed unit. The Forum has scheduled a meeting in Koppal on Saturday to discuss and decide on their next course of action, added the press release.
